Visit of the President of the Sejm of the Republic of Lithuania and declaring 2021 the year of Tatars history and culture of Lithuania

Following the resolution of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania to declare 2021 the year of Lithuanian Tartar history and culture, today, January 17, at the Forty Tartar Village of Pagiriai Eldership of Vilnius District and the Raižiai Village Mosque in Raižiai, Alytus district. Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, visited and met with the active Tatar community here. Members of the Seimas also came together: Vytautas Juozapaitis, Arūnas Gumuliauskas, Vytautas Kamblevičius, Mayor of Vilnius District Municipality Marija Rekst and Pagiriai Elder Vladislava Vanagel-Tribocka.
2021 The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania took part in all wars and uprisings in the fight for the freedom of Lithuania Independence, made a significant contribution to the restoration of Lithuanian statehood, history and culture, and decided to declare the year 2021 the year of the Lithuanian Tartar History and Culture.
Speaker of the Seimas prof. Victor Franck was delighted with this beautiful opportunity and opportunity to meet. "I am very pleased that our Constitution does not include a national minority, but a national community. And I always want it to be called. Thank you prof. Adas Jakubauskas for launching this initiative during the proclamation of the Tartar Year. (...)
